Overview

If someone rings while you’re already on a call, your phone plays a soft beep and shows the new caller on screen. You can answer them (your first call goes on hold automatically), or let them go to voicemail. Once you have two calls going, you can swap between them as often as you like.

Answering a second call

  1. The new caller appears on screen with Answer, Reject, and Silence soft keys.
  2. Press Answer. Your first call is placed on hold automatically.

Swapping between calls

  1. Use the ↑ ↓ navigation keys to highlight the held call.
  2. Press the Resume soft key. The other call is placed on hold automatically.
Repeat whenever you need to switch back.
Juggling two callers? You can also transfer one of them to a colleague, or join everyone together with a conference.

Not a fan of call waiting?

If you’d rather second callers go straight to voicemail while you’re on the phone, you can turn call waiting off under Menu > Features > Call Waiting, or ask us to set it up that way for you.
With call waiting off, callers who ring while you’re busy follow your busy settings, usually straight to voicemail or your busy call forward destination.

Frequently asked questions

I pressed Reject on the second call. Where did it go? Rejected calls follow your busy/no-answer routing. On most Pear systems, that’s your voicemail. Can I end one call and keep the other? Yes. End the active call as normal (hang up or press End Call), then resume the held call. The beep is distracting during important calls. Can I change it? You can turn call waiting off entirely (see above), so second callers never interrupt. You’ll see their missed call in your Call History instead.
