Overview

Do Not Disturb (DND) silences your phone completely. Incoming calls won’t ring. Callers are sent to your voicemail (or follow your busy routing). A DND icon shows in the status bar the whole time it’s on, so you always know why the phone has gone quiet.

Turning DND on and off

  1. On the idle screen, press the DND soft key. The DND icon appears in the status bar.
  2. Press DND again to turn it off.
DND silently blocks every call, including customers and your manager. It’s easy to switch on and forget. If your phone has been suspiciously quiet, check the status bar for the DND icon.

DND and your Pear Portal status

Your portal status and your phone’s DND work together. Setting your status to anything other than Available in the Pear Portal (Away, Break, Lunch, or Meeting) automatically turns DND on and pauses your queue calls. Setting yourself back to Available turns it off again.

Setting your status

The portal way to manage your availability. It handles DND and queues in one step.
If you work in call queues, prefer setting your status in the portal over pressing DND on the phone. Status changes pause your queues properly, so queue calls don’t ring a phone that won’t answer.

Frequently asked questions

Where do callers go while DND is on? Straight to your voicemail on most Pear systems. They don’t hear ringing first. Will I see calls I missed while DND was on? Yes, they appear in your Call History. Callers who left a message will show in voicemail too. Can I let certain important callers through DND? The phone itself doesn’t make exceptions, but your system routing can be set up with priority rules. Contact support if you need this.
