Overview
Main Number Diversion lets you save a mobile or external number that calls will be forwarded to when you activate Divert to Mobile in Call Flow Control. Think of it as pre-loading the destination so you can activate the diversion quickly when you need it.
How to set your diversion number
- Go to Inbound Call Routing in the left menu
- Scroll down to the Main Number Diversion card
- Enter the mobile or external number in the Diversion number field, e.g.
0417000000
- Click Save
The number is saved immediately. You’ll see a confirmation below the field showing the currently saved number.
Saving a diversion number does not start diverting calls. You still need to go to Call Flow Control and select Divert to Mobile, then click Apply to activate it.
How to activate the diversion
Once your number is saved:
- In the Call Flow Control card above, select Divert to Mobile
- Click Apply
All inbound calls to your main number will now forward to the saved mobile number. The Main Number Diversion card will show a Diverting now badge while active.
To stop diverting, go back to Call Flow Control, select Normal, and click Apply.
How to clear the diversion number
If you no longer need a saved number, click Clear next to the field. This removes the saved number but does not affect any active diversion. Make sure you’ve switched back to Normal in Call Flow Control first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save more than one diversion number?
No, only one number can be saved at a time. If you need to divert to a different number, update the field and click Save before activating.
The diversion number is saved but calls aren’t diverting. Why?
You need to activate the diversion in Call Flow Control. Saving the number here just stores the destination. It doesn’t start forwarding calls. Select Divert to Mobile in Call Flow Control and click Apply.
What number does the caller see when diverted?
The caller will see your main business number, not the mobile it’s being diverted to. The diversion is transparent to the caller.
I need to change which number is set as the main number for the system.
The main number shown here is set in your phone system configuration. To change it, log a support case with the Pear support team using the Support link in the left menu.
