Overview

The Dial feature lets you start a call from your browser without dialling manually on your phone. You type the number you want to reach and the portal calls your desk phone first. Pick it up and you’ll be connected.

How to make a call

  1. Go to My Extension in the left menu.
  2. Find the Dial card.
  3. Type a phone number or internal extension into the Enter number or extension… field.
  4. Press Enter or click the call button on the right.
  5. Your phone will ring. Pick it up.
  6. Once you answer, the call connects to the number you entered.
Your phone must be registered (showing Idle in the My Extension card) for this to work. If your phone is offline, the call won’t go through.

What numbers can I dial?

  • Internal extensions: e.g. 150, 200
  • Local or national numbers: e.g. 0288663000
  • Mobile numbers: e.g. 0417000000
  • International numbers: log a support call with Pear to find out whether international calls are enabled on your account

Frequently asked questions

My phone rang but I missed it. What happened to the call? If you don’t answer your phone in time, the outbound call is cancelled. Just dial again when you’re ready. Can I use this to call someone internally? Yes. Type the extension number (e.g. 150) and it works the same way as dialling an external number. The call failed. What should I check? Make sure your phone is showing as Idle in the My Extension card. If it shows Offline or Unavailable, your phone isn’t registered and won’t be able to receive the initial ring-back call.
